Frequently asked
questions
Quick answers about coverage, pricing, languages, and what we can do on the ground in China. Still unsure? Contact us or submit a request.
Which cities do you serve?
We cover mainland China nationwide. On-the-ground work happens in the city or region you specify — from major hubs (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and others) to smaller cities when travel is feasible.
For remote locations we confirm feasibility and any additional travel time in your quote before you commit. We do not cover Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan.
What kinds of errands can you help with?
Most tasks fall into five areas on our Services page. You can submit any of these through the request form — or choose “Something else” if your task is not listed:
Travel & Local Navigation
- hotel assistance
- train ticket booking
- visa interpretation
- lost property recovery
Medical & Administrative Support
- hospital escort
- medical coordination
- test center accompaniment
- document handling
Logistics & Physical Presence
- inspections
- packing & shipping
- asset disposal
- collection & handover
Business & Operational Assistance
- supplier coordination
- factory visits
- operational support
- market assistance
Cultural & Custom Requests
- cultural workshops
- local referrals
- custom errands
- unique situations
Beyond these examples we also handle document handling, collection and handover, factory visits, supplier coordination, market research, trade-show attendance, and one-off custom errands. If we cannot help, we say so before you pay.
Do I need to be in China to use your service?
No. Most of our clients are outside China — overseas Chinese managing family matters, travelers planning a trip, and businesses that need a trusted person on the ground without opening a local office.
You describe the task remotely; we execute in China, keep you updated (photos, messages, receipts), and send a full report when done.
Can you help businesses as well as individuals?
Yes. We support SMEs and larger companies that need China-side execution: supplier and factory coordination, on-site inspections, sample collection, wholesale-market buying, pricing surveys, competitor visits, trade-fair attendance, and ongoing retainer arrangements.
Individual clients use the same service — there is no separate “consumer” tier. Every request gets a clear quote and a single point of contact.
How much does an errand in China cost?
Every task is quoted individually based on time, complexity, location, and any out-of-pocket expenses (travel, purchases, courier fees, and similar). We reply within 24 hours with a realistic assessment and a clear breakdown.
No payment until you approve the quote. Some focus services carry a stated fee — for example, hotel verification and booking assistance is $5 USD before any booking is confirmed. Train tickets are charged at face value plus a small per-ticket service fee when secured.
Can you communicate in English and Chinese?
Yes. All client communication is in English (fluent) and Mandarin Chinese (native). You can reach us by email, WhatsApp, WeChat, or phone / voice chat.
We also speak a little German and Spanish at a basic level for simple enquiries. All China-side coordination is handled in Mandarin and local dialects where needed.
Can you visit a supplier, store, apartment, or office and provide photos or videos?
Yes. Remote and on-site inspection is one of our core services. We can visit a property, rental, warehouse, factory, retail store, or office on your behalf and deliver photos, video walkthroughs, or answers to a checklist you provide.
You typically receive a report within one to two business days after the visit. We confirm scope, access requirements, and pricing before we go.
How do I pay for the service?
After you approve a quote, we send an invoice with a PayPal payment link. Pay when you are ready — there is no charge on the initial request form.
For tasks with significant upfront costs (purchasing goods, travel, deposits), we may request a deposit before work begins; this is always spelled out in the quote. All receipts and documentation are passed through to you.
Will my information remain confidential?
Yes. We treat every request as confidential. Sensitive business, personal, and family matters are handled discreetly. An NDA is available on request for corporate or high-stakes work.
We do not sell or share your contact details. Information is used only to complete your task and communicate with you.
How quickly will you respond?
We aim to reply to every enquiry within 24 hours (one business day) with either a quote, a follow-up question, or an honest “we cannot help” if the task is outside our scope. WhatsApp and WeChat are often faster for urgent matters.
How do I get started?
Use the request form for the fastest quote — choose a topic or describe a custom task. You can also email info@errandschina.com, message us on WhatsApp, or add us on WeChat (errandschina).
Is there a minimum task size?
No. We handle single errands and ongoing monthly arrangements. There is no subscription required to submit a request.
Can you sign documents on my behalf?
In some cases, yes — with written authorisation. Whether signing is possible depends on the document type and the institution involved. We advise case-by-case in the quote stage; we are process support, not a law firm.
Didn’t find your answer?
Describe your task — we quote within 24 hours. No payment until you approve.
